U.S. Customs Form: CBP Form 3124 – Application for Customs Broker License

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Form 3124  is the application for the Customs Broker License.  There are several types of Customs Broker Licenses: individual, corporation, partnership and association.  The most common forms are the individual and corporate licenses.  To get an individual license, you must first pass the Customs Broker License Exam before even applying.  For the corporate license, you must have somebody with the individual Customs broker license to server as the “Broker of Record” for your corporation.  The entire process can take a very long time due to the background checks carried out by U.S. Customs.
